A Look back at the 9th Annual Freshmen Luncheon

On Saturday afternoon, September 13, we hosted our first event of the year — the 9th Annual Freshmen Luncheon which featured the Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo, Inc. Frank Cooper III on the 8th floor of Huntsman Hall. Freshman Liaison Anthony Perry introduced Mr. Cooper to an audience of over 50 students.

The successful event was filled with wise words from Mr. Cooper on finding your passions while staying strategically competitive. Inquisitive minds from freshmen to seniors asked questions about several topics from the obstacles Mr. Cooper faced as a Black man in corporate America to what industries he envisioned potential growth in. After his speech, attendants met and talked with Mr. Cooper and his wife Nina.

Anthony directed some words of advice to the freshman class. He encouraged them to take advantage of their upperclassmen network and reminded them not to fear failure — but rather to take it easy on themselves as they navigate their first year of college.
